What to Expect
Prior to First Appointment
- We are glad you are here, and our friendly staff is here to take care of your endodontic dental needs.
- Our goal is to save your natural teeth.
- Your referral slip from your general dentist or we take self-referrals.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, please bring your insurance information with you, as this will help to save time and help us process any claims.
- Please bring any questions you have for us.
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. We will ask you questions about what you’re experiencing and the history of your tooth to determine your best course of endodontic treatment. We will use our advanced imaging technology – including X-rays and 3D CBCT scans – to help us determine a diagnosis for your teeth and provide you with a clear picture of what is going on.
Please do not take any pain medication prior to your consultation appointment, including if you have a treatment appointment on the same day. This will make it easier for us to quickly assess your problem tooth and allow us to get you in quickly for treatment.
First Consultation
- What type of treatment you’ll need, and how long it will take.
- Any existing dental issues that may affect treatment, such as crowns, posts, cracked teeth, and previous root canals.
- What costs you can expect, so you can make the decision that works best for you.
Based on the type of initial appointment, we will either provide treatment on the same day or schedule a separate visit for you. However, if you are experiencing a high level of pain, we may go ahead and begin your treatment on the same day.
Lastly
Please alert our office staff if you are pregnant, have health conditions that could cause surgical complications (E.g. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves, artificial joints, rheumatic fever, etc.); or require medications or antibiotics before dental cleanings.
- A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18 at their consultation visit.
