Root Canal Therapy
What Is Root Canal Therapy?
Root canal therapy is a specialized dental procedure designed to treat infections or damage within the pulp of a tooth. Our skilled practitioners at Endodontic Associates of Central Texas employ advanced techniques to delicately remove infected or inflamed pulp, clean the canal, and seal it, ultimately saving your natural tooth.
Procedure
- The patient undergoes local anesthesia.
- A dental rubber dam is used to isolate the tooth.
- The tooth is opened to allow for removal of infected or dead dental pulp.
- The root canals are comprehensively cleaned, including any cracks and canals.
- With special tools, the doctor shapes the canals.
- The tooth is filled again with cutting edge biocompatible (rubber based) filling material.
- A temporary filling is used to cover the access opening.
Patient MUST see their regular dentist quickly for a permanent restoration of the tooth.
